MK Group combines strategic advice, project structuring and partnerships. Our role is to bring the expertise needed for a shared ambition together.
Incorporated in Belgium in 2014, MK Group is developing an organization that brings expertise together around projects in Africa. Its 2020 partnership charter and Horizon 2030 strategic reflection put collaboration at the centre of this approach.
A new phase is taking shape around a collective and its first major projects. The experience of its members informs this work; a collective track record is built through the work itself.

Founder · Strategy and origination
Marcel Florkin
A statistician, Marcel Florkin combines modelling, financial management and organisational change. He also teaches statistics, computer science and mathematics.
Background and scope of involvement
A statistician, Marcel Florkin supported the leadership of L’Ilot before taking on responsibilities at the Association des maisons d’accueil, including vice-president and acting president between 1996 and 2000. He subsequently held deputy financial management positions at Efficio and co-founded an asset management company. His career includes modelling, audit and change management assignments, alongside teaching statistics, computer science and mathematics.
At MK Group, he focuses on strategy, identifying opportunities and coordinating partners.
Finance, due diligence and project structuring
Olivier Dehareng
Olivier Dehareng specialises in financial analysis, due diligence and project structuring. His due diligence work has covered funds representing more than €1 billion in assets.
Background and scope of involvement
With a background in business and computer engineering, Olivier Dehareng specialises in financial analysis and due diligence for funds and projects.
His impact finance experience at Innpact includes due diligence work on funds representing more than €1 billion in assets. He reviews financial documentation, assesses risks and connects assumptions to sources to prepare decision materials. He also develops analytical and automation tools to support this work.
At MK Group, he works on opportunity assessment, financial analysis and project structuring.
Business law and OHADA
Maître Marie-Louise Weteto
With a master’s in law and an LL.M. in international business law from ULB, Marie-Louise Weteto is a member of the Brussels Bar.
Background and scope of involvement
Marie-Louise Weteto complemented her ULB law degree with an LL.M. in international business law in 2024.
Following five years in the Tax & Legal department of a Big Four firm in Lubumbashi, she joined DALDEWOLF in 2024, working in corporate law and the firm’s OHADA Desk.
Her expertise covers contracts, joint ventures, restructuring and corporate transactions, particularly within the OHADA region.
Media and communications
Erik Nyindu Kibambe
Educated in philosophy at the Université libre de Bruxelles, Erik Nyindu Kibambe has worked in journalism and institutional communications in Belgium and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Background and scope of involvement
Erik Nyindu Kibambe studied philosophy at ULB before moving into journalism.
He worked for Télé Bruxelles, TV5 and Vox Africa, then headed the communications unit of the presidency of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He has served as the DRC’s ambassador to Mauritania since 2025.
His expertise covers media and institutional communications. Within MK Group, he takes no part in any file involving the Democratic Republic of the Congo, joins no negotiation, and receives no remuneration tied to a public contract.
Engineering and energy
Dr Jean Paul Katond Mbay
An electromechanical engineer with a doctorate from the Université libre de Bruxelles, Jean Paul Katond Mbay is a professor at the University of Lubumbashi’s Faculty of Engineering.
Background and scope of involvement
Jean Paul Katond Mbay completed his ULB doctorate in 2013, focusing on modelling and testing hydraulic turbines suited to rivers in the DRC.
He teaches at the University of Lubumbashi and conducts research in electromechanical engineering, hydropower and electricity networks. His work includes energy generation solutions suited to local conditions.
At MK Group, he contributes to the technical assessment of industrial and energy projects, equipment sizing and the analysis of operating requirements.
Local engagement and Great Lakes
Father Émile Mbazumutima
A priest of the Diocese of Bururi in Burundi, Émile Mbazumutima serves as a vicar in the Braine-l’Alleud pastoral unit. His work centres on supporting communities.
Background and scope of involvement
Émile Mbazumutima is a member of the clergy of the Diocese of Bururi. His ministry has taken him to Belgium, including assignments in Ottignies and later Braine-l’Alleud.
His pastoral experience centres on listening, support and dialogue with communities. At MK Group, he contributes to understanding local contexts in the Great Lakes region, stakeholder consultation and mediation.
Institutions and research
Jacqui Goegebeur
A graduate in African history and philology from Ghent University, Jacqui Goegebeur combines a career in information systems with historical research and civil society engagement.
Background and scope of involvement
Jacqui Goegebeur graduated from Ghent University in African history and philology in 1983.
She worked in IT, including mainframe and UNIX systems and networking. Her research includes transcribing Émile Storms’ diaries held at the AfricaMuseum. She has chaired the Métis de Belgique association and served as an alternate member of the boards of Myria and Unia.
At MK Group, she contributes to documentary research, historical context analysis and an understanding of institutions.
